We should start with the obvious, what is the cache on your Android device? Your Android device uses part of your memory to store data for quick access and temporary storage by your apps. In theory, over time your cache can become large and even start to slow your device down. Keep in mind that Android generally does a great job at managing the size and stability of your cache, so I wouldn’t suggest you worry about it unless you have some issues with your device getting laggy or slow and use a Android Data Eraser. If this does happen to you I’d restart your device before you do anything else. If that doesn’t fix the problem, one of these applications might help you out. Before we dive in I would caution anyone against constantly emptying your cache because your apps need it to run in the background. With all that in mind let’s start working our way from worst to first.

10. Cache Cleaner By Jova
This is an app that could not be more simple. The landing screen presents you with two buttons, one to see how big your cache is and what apps are using up that space. The other button will just clear your entire cache all at once. When you tap to choose a specific app’s cache to clear it you are taken to the app’s information page. This certainly isn’t a high-powered, full featured application but it will certainly get the job done.
9. SLW Cache Cleaner Widget
Ok, first of all everyone calm down. I know this isn’t technically an app, but lets face it; this list needed some variety. This isn’t a complex widget in any way. Install it, slap it on your home screen and it will have a running total of everything in your cache at all times. Just tap the widget once and you are good to go. Most of us probably don’t need to wipe our cache as often as this widget allows you to, but hey, to each his or her own.
8. Cache Cleaner+
If simplicity is what you are after, this is your go-to option. You can only clear the cache of one app at a time, but I really like having the ability to sort the apps that are currently taking up room in your cache by several different options. This is especially great because you can sort and find what apps are most likely slowing your system down the most and clear out only those apps. Again, this isn’t anything fancy but it will get the job done.
7. App Cache Cleaner
This is also a fairly simple option, but it does have a sharp interface. I also found this app to be much snappier than a lot of the other choices on this list. I am a big fan of apps that are simple, yet done well and this certainly falls into this category. There are more complex, and full-featured apps on this list, but if you are only looking to clear your cache, I would install this app.
6. Quick Cleaner
Quick Cleaner is certainly a step above a lot of the apps on this list. This app will clear your cache, but it will not clear the cache for any individual app, you can only either erase everything or nothing. This application goes one step farther. It is easy to erase your SMS, Phone and web browsing history as well. If you happen to be a spy or a lest than trustworthy significant other this application is probably for you.
5. App Cache Cleaner
This is the first app on this list that will allow you to select multiple apps from a list and clear the cache of each of those apps all at once. This is a pretty important feature, especially since a lot of the lower-end cache clearing apps will take you to the information page for each individual app before it will let you clear the cache. This isn’t a fancy application with a lot of bells and whistles, but if you are looking for something simple that you can use to clean up your OS, this is a great way to go.
4. Android Cleaner
Android Cleaner certainly brings some great things to the table. This app makes it easy to see what apps are using your RAM even though you aren’t necessarily using them. You can easily close them one at a time or as a group. Of course you can also choose to clear the cache for any of your apps as well, once again as a group or individually. I also really like the landing screen for this app. It shows you all at once how much of your CPU, App Memory, Disk Memory and SD Card are being used right at that moment. This app also has a “Privacy Clean” button at the bottom that will clean your call history, SMS history and browsing history all at once. All in all this is a solid choice for someone looking to tweak the minutia of your experience.
3. AVG Memory & Cache Cleaner
From the people known best for security and antivirus apps comes a brand new cache clearing application that is absolutely as good as any choice on this list. The app is simple, quick and surprisingly light. I think it is the speed of this app that really sets it apart more than anything else. From just your landing page in the app it is easy to erase your call and text history, browsing history, and of course your cache. Another cool feature included in this app is that you can easily set up a weekly cleaning. Keep in mind that wiping your cache more than once a week or so certainly won’t do you any good, but it can actually slow your device down in some cases. AVG has done a great job putting this app together and it is a great option for anyone looking for a simple way to clear your cache and history.
2. 1 Tap Cleaner
Although this app is a fine option, the name is somewhat inaccurate. The menu is easy to use, and navigating through the various features is quite easy. But there isn’t anything you can do in this app with just one tap… If they had named it anything else I would have used this entire paragraph talking about how easy this app makes it to clear your phone calls, SMS and browsing history. Unfortunately you cannot clear the cache for multiple apps at once. You can either clear your entire cache or you can clear the cache for just one app at a time. This app does give you the option to schedule regular cleanings of your cache, but you will need to pay two bucks for the pro version to get some of the more advanced features.
1. Clean Master
This app is my favorite for several reasons. First of all the interface is sharp, attractive and simple to use. This application has pretty much every feature you could want. It is easy to clear the history from any app that has a history, you can choose from a list or delete everything all at once. Clean Master is also a task manager so that you can decide which apps you want running the background. I also like that you can delete apps and force stop them from here as well. If you like to tweak what you have running at any moment and optimize the speed of your Android device.
