We all know how to get to Google Now on the Nexus line of devices right? Well since the Galaxy S4 doesn’t have on-screen buttons, it’s a bit different. There are actually a few ways you can access Google Now on Samsung’s new flagship device. For those of you that don’t know what Google Now is, it’s basically a personal assistant. It gives you information before you ask for it. To put it simply, it’s amazing.
To get to Google Now, you can simply press and hold the Home button, and you’ll see the screen above. If you tap the Google Search icon in the middle, it’ll take you into Google Now. There is an even quicker way to get there as well. But this only works on the home screen. Tap and hold the menu button. It’ll take you directly into Google Now. But it doesn’t work in any app like tapping and holding the Home button does.
So that’s how you can get to Google Now on your brand new Galaxy S4. You can also remap the buttons by using custom ROMs, which I’ve done in the past with my Galaxy S3. We’ll be continuing our on-going coverage of the Galaxy S4 in the next few weeks with plenty more tips, mini-reviews and capping it all off with the full review of the Galaxy S4.
