Could HTC Be Launching a “One Tablet” Soon?

It’s been a while since HTC launched a new tablet. In fact the last ones I can remember ran Froyo and Gingerbread. Anyone remember the Flyer? Or how about the EVO View 4G on Sprint? Those are some pretty old tablets that didn’t do so well. Which made HTC focus solely on phones. Which makes sense, since they are struggling to sell their phones.

Today, a new leak showed two new HTC tablets that are said to be high-resolution tablets. The R7 and R12 tablets which will be Windows RT Blue tablets are supposedly coming in Q3. So that must mean an Android tablet or two are coming right?

Well these tablets have some pretty good specs, according to this leak. The HTC R7 is going to have a 7-inch Full HD display with a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and 2GB of RAM. It’s also supposed to have 16GB of internal space with a microSD card slot and a 13MP camera on the back. Those sound like some pretty good specs, at least in my opinion.

So could we see a tablet like this from HTC running Android? Who knows. We would certainly like to see one. But after their first stab at an Android tablet didn’t go so well, they’ve been pretty reluctant to take another stab at an Android tablet.

These Windows-based tablets are supposed to launch around October 13th, at least according to Phone Arena. So could see an Android tablet announcement come around that time. Of course, this is all speculation so we don’t know for sure. But wouldn’t you love an Android tablet with those types of specs? I know I’m dying to get my hands on a device with the Snapdragon 800 processor, no matter which OEM puts it in their device.

How many of you would buy an HTC tablet running Android? Let us know in the comments below.
