Have you ever wanted to get up close and personal with a new smartphone without a carrier store employee breathing down your neck? Maybe you would like to test drive a device while having someone from the manufacturer who actually knows a little something about it right there to answer your questions? If you answered yes to either of those questions and are looking to get some hands on time with the upcoming HTC One, then it looks like you’ll be covered because the smartphone is about to start a multi city tour in order to give consumers just that.
In the build up to the HTC One’s North American launch the manufacturer is taking the handset to 11 major US markets in an effort to spread some much needed word of mouth. There are three different phases of this marketing push with the first one, the HTC Boom Sound Lounges, opening up today in six cities across the country. That means people can go to Columbus Circle in New York, Embarcadero Plaza in San Francisco, Hollywood and Highland in Los Angeles, Wrigleyville in Chicago, Franklin Square in Philadelphia, and Perimeter Mall in Atlanta to get a taste of the HTC One. The Boom Sound Lounges are set up in order to showcase the One’s front facing speakers and are also a connection for three Live Nation-produced concerts that will include performances by Pharrell in New York, Grouplove in Chicago and Manchester Orchestra in Los Angeles. These concerts are scheduled for April 19th to see Grouplove or Pharrell and the 25th to see Manchester Orchestra and fans can either purchase tickets or see a live stream of the events from http://www.htctheoneconcerts.com/..
Phase two will consist of HTC showrooms being set up in eight US markets starting on April 11th. These showrooms will be set up in high traffic malls in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. where consumers will get the chance to get accustomed with the HTC One and it’s many features including HTC Blinkfeed, HTC Zoe, and HTC Sense TV.
Finally HTC will set up what’s called the HTC Cinema Live Experience. This should be the most wide spread of the experiences and will be set up in the lobbies of select theaters across the country. There will be live demonstrations of the HTC One as well as showing the latest commercials on the big screen. Additionally HTC has plans add entertainment content to the on-screen viewing experience in theaters and also across key online and TV channels.
