OUYA Gives Another Shipping Update

OUYA is doing a good job at keeping us updated with shipping of their consoles. Here’s the latest from their blog:

  • Limited Edition units have been “fast-tracked” and will be shipped out sooner, cutting nearly two weeks off the original time.
  • Standard orders are no longer prioritized over orders with extra controllers. The orders with spare controllers will start shipping early next week.
  • They are working on methods to get international orders out the door faster

Galaxy S4 Mini Delayed

Reports are saying that Samsung’s rumored Galaxy S4 mini has been delayed until June. The device was supposed to be like how the Galaxy S3 mini was to the Galaxy S3. Basically a smaller, mid-range to low-end device with all the features of the S4.

Jelly Bean for Xperia Phones Almost here

Sony today commented that their Jelly Bean update for their Xperia phones are in the final stages of testing, and we’ll see more news next week. Hopefully you’ll see some updates in our Weekly OTA feature that our Editor Tom does every Thursday.

Introducing the Google Fiber Van

I wonder if it has Google Fiber on it? The Googleplex got a Google Fiber van today. It looks pretty cool. Now if they can bring Fiber into more areas, we’d love that Google.

Softbank not planning to sweet talk Sprint?

Today, Softbank came out and basically said they aren’t going to be sweetening their deal with Sprint. So perhaps Dish could indeed scoop in and pick up the nation’s third largest wireless carrier?

Tracfone Adding some new Android phones?

Today, we’re getting reports that Tracfone is adding four new entry level Android phones built by LG. Tracfone is a prepaid carrier and actually owns Straight Talk and Net 10. They appear to be running Gingerbread or maybe ICS. We have no real details on them yet.

Verizon Expanding LTE again

Verizon is continuing to expand their LTE footprint. Today they launched LTE in 5 new markets and expanded in a few others. LTE is now available in these markets:

  • El Centro, California
  • Fort Dodge, Iowa
  • Middlesboro/Harlan and Paducah, Kentucky
  • East Liverpool, Ohio

And expanded in these markets:

  • Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania
  • Bedford County, Pennsylvania
  • Cambridge And Senecaville, Ohio
  • Northwest Ohio
  • East Liverpool,Ohio
