HTC One S in Europe Getting some Christmas Jelly Beans

December 24, 2012 - Written By Alexander Maxham

Plenty of users over on XDA are posting that they are getting an OTA to Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean on their HTC One S. Now this is the European version of the One S. The new software version is 3.16.401.8 and the full update is around 612MB. We’ve also got the download link below if you want to update manually.

Now according to XDA, this update will only work on these CIDs:

HTC__001
HTC__E11
HTC__203
HTC__102
HTC__405
HTC__Y13
HTC__A07
HTC__304
HTC__M27
HTC__032
HTC__016

This update brings a load of improvements and enhancements to your HTC One S. It’ll be bringing Sense 4+ along with all the goodies in Android 4.1 which include Project Butter, Google Now, Expandable notifications and much more. Sense 4+ has also been refined even more than Sense 4 was. And it’s the same version of Sense found on the new HTC One X+ and HTC Droid DNA.

So go ahead and grab your update if your device has one of the CIDs listed above:

  • Go into Settings
  • Tap About Phone
  • Tap Check For updates
  • Tap Check

Just spam that check button until you get your update. As usual the OTA is probably being rolled out slowly. So if you can’t get your update right away, you may have to wait a few hours to get some Jelly Beans from HTC.

The European HTC One S joins a bunch of other devices on Android 4.1 now besides the Nexus family. That includes the Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2, HTC One X, HTC One XL (international), and now the European HTC One S. So Android 4.1 is getting out there, slowly but surely. Hopefully we’ll start seeing some Android 4.2 updates coming soon.

So who was able to get the Android 4.1 update? Let us know in the comments below.
