New “Explore Similar Artists” Feature for Google Music now in the Play Store

Among the many announcements Google had on Monday was a few new features for Google Music, not to mention bringing Google Music to more countries. The Explore Similar Artists feature is now live in the Play Store, and it looks like it’s only available on Tablets right now. Android Police uncovered this earlier today.

Android Police was also able to confirm that this feature is now live on several Nexus 7 devices. Now when you search for an Artist in the Music section of Google Play, you’ll see a new option “explore similar artists” next to the buy button. From there you can tap on new artists and it’ll expand to show you even more. It’s actually pretty cool, and a easy way to get you to spend more money on Google services, which is what they want.

Today there was some talk that the Nexus 7 would be getting Android 4.2 soon – duh! It is a Nexus that is not tied to a carrier so it’ll mostly likely have Android 4.2 before the end of the month. But this feature you can enjoy right now. Check it out and let us know what you think.
