Google Play Store Version 3.9.17 Ready for Download

November 2, 2012 - Written By Alexander Maxham

This week we were introduced to another version of Android. So you know what that means, time for Google to update “All the apps!” And that they have. Now we’ve got a brand new version of the Play Store to play with. Just a few weeks ago, we got version 3.9.16 which brought us wishlists among other new features and now we’ve got another update to check out. And of course the guys at Android Police have torn apart the apk to see what’s new.

Once torn apart, there wasn’t much found to have changed. They were able to find a new set of XXHDPI 144x144px icons which seems likely for working with tablets with the Nexus 10 like pixels. Which is also probably the culprit behind the jump in the size of the apk compared to 3.9.16. Of course with any update there is probably some bug fixes, performance fixes, and stability improvements.

Just for kicks let’s check out the file sizes of the last few Play Store versions:

  • 3.5.19.apk 3.81MB
  • 3.7.11.apk 5.07MB
  • 3.7.13.apk 5.07MB
  • 3.7.15.apk 5.07MB
  • 3.8.15.apk 5.35MB
  • 3.8.17.apk 5.35MB
  • 3.9.16.apk 5.22 MB
  • 3.9.17.apk 5.34 MB

We know you want a download link, we’ll you’ve been patient enough, so here they are:
