Featured: LG Drops the Source Code of ICS for the Optimus 2X – SU660

Here we go guys, this is great news for those of you that own the LG Optimus 2x. While this won’t particularly help normal users, this will help ROM developers bake some newer, more stable ROMs for the device. This is Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich source code, so it won’t help much on the development of CM10 and other Jelly Bean ROMs, but who knows.

Even though it looks like official Ice Cream Sandwich will never hit the device, at least now developers can work on Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs for the SU660 and the T-Mobile Optimus 2X P999. If you’re using the LG Optimus 2X you’re probably pretty excited about this source code, but if you still have the Optimus 2X I feel kind of bad for you. It’s still a shame to see yet another device not get Ice Cream Sandwich. Especially one that was released about 6 months (in the US at least) before ICS was announced.

Anyone out there still rocking the LG Optimus 2x? Are you still stock or have you flashed a custom ROM on that bad boy already? Let us know in the comments.
