Finfal Fantasy fans may remember the first talks about this game back from E3 2012. Square Enix announced it as a whole new story to play but will act like the old school final fantasy games we remember from back in the day. You know the ones from the original NES and Super NES from our childhood. At least I remember. Those Saturday mornings that flowed into Saturday afternoons playing hour after hour of classic Final Fantasy titles. Getting enslaved by the storyline and wanting to play more. Those were the days. Ahhh memories. The good news in all of this is that we have yet another AAA title from square enix heading our way over here on the Android platform. This isn’t surprising at all as Square enix has been making quite the stir on Android lately, with the release of FF3 and the original Final Fantasy, the announcement that Final Fantasy 3 will be available on OUYA when it is released, and other great games from them coming soon like Demon’s Score.
This new game, titled Final Fantasy Dimensions, will play like the old school Final Fantasy games from the past as I stated up above and will have similar graphics and 2-D style, but will have a completely new story to follow and new characters to become attached to. The funny thing is, this game was supposed to be a title for the basic phone crowd at first, but then Square Enix decided to give it a facelift in the graphics department and make it available as a title for Android instead. Now android phones won’t be the only ones seeing this title, but as far as we’re concerned over here at androidheadlines, it’s the only platform that matters that will be getting down on some old style FF action.
Now keep in mind, this game does have nostalgic play style, but it will feature a vast selection of classes with a pretty big job system as well. You can expect to see dragoons, dark knights, ninjas, thieves, red mages, and I’m sure an onion knight. Hoping at least. *crosses fingers*. If you’re already on the edge of your seat waiting to hear when the release date for this will be, then wait no longer. Square Enix says its slated for release at the end of this month. The very, very, very end. Literally August 31st. So we won’t have to wait much longer. I still have quite a few hours left on Final Fantasy 3 to finish before I can even dive into this one, but I will be picking it up immediately. Any old school gamers out there looking to snatch this one up?
