Gingerbread Is Coming to the G2
Oh boy, T-Mobile G2 fans, do we have the treat for you! Computerworld has been informed by a HTC representative that the phone will indeed receive Android OS 2.3 (Gingerbread), and if all goes well it will receive the update by the start of summer.
Gingerbread Desires a Trip to Europe: Desire Z
European fans, worry not, as the HTC Desire Z (its European cousin) will also be receiving Gingerbread as well. Due to the fact that the G2 runs stock Android OS 2.2 (Froyo) and the Desire Z runs HTC’s Sense UI with Froyo, this will not be at the same time.
With a 800 MHz second generation Snapdragon processor, a 3.7 inch touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard, the G2 has proved to be a very popular phone and a worthy successor to the T-Mobile G1.
