Froyo Being Served on the Samsung Intercept

Samsung Intercept owners over on Virgin Mobile should be adding another reason to party this weekend. Androidcentral has been getting hits that Virgin Mobile has been sending out text messages to Intercept owners that say the Android 2.2 (Froyo) update is neigh upon them.

Text Message Alert: Chill Your Intercept for Cool Update

The text sent to owners said the following:

The Froyo Update for the Virgin Mobile Samsung Intercept is finally coming out on Monday the 11th! VMFreeMsg: Starting 4/11/11, you will be notified of a phone software upgrade available for your Intercept. Click http://msg4u.us/isr for more information.

What’s in that Froyo on my Intercept?

When you click on the link provided, you get some more interesting details. Your Google, Exchange accounts, emails, texts, alarms, and installed apps will all be backed up. They also note that if you notice your calendar won’t sync correctly, all you need to do is preform a soft reset and things should be back to normal. But other than that, you get the typical Android 2.2 Froyo treatment such as Apps to SD card, improved Exchange syncing, and other updates. So sit back and enjoy all the Froyo goodness.
