Verizon Droid Eris Receives Random but Necessary Update

March 4, 2011 - Written By Jordan Yost

HTC and Verizon have teamed up for this update, which brings Eris users software build 2.41.605.6 and radio 2.42.01.04.27. So what can Eris owners look forward to if they aren’t getting Froyo?

  • Improved Bluetooth communication with Mercedes-Benz E350
  • Twitter authentication to allow users to login to their accounts with ease
  • Visually improved Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI), showcasing the incoming signal strength
  • Preloaded visual voicemail
  • Microsoft Exchange server calendars can now sync with the device
  • Video, picture, and audio multimedia messages can be sent/received with or without text
  • Video, picture, and audio multimedia messages sent to phones on other networks will now be received

According to those updates, which can be seen here, there are a lot of Eris owners that also have Mercedes-Benz E350s. It also makes me wonder why the last two updates that pertain to multimedia messaging weren’t applicable to the phone beforehand.

Anyone receive this update already? Any Eris owners looking forward to it/happy with it? Comments encouraged below.
