The $600, Contract-free Xoom: Good While it Lasted!

February 25, 2011 - Written By Cameron Summerson

For a very brief amount of time, some people were lucky enough to get a Xoom, without contract, for the low price of $600. That’s right, only $600 with no contract. This was made possible by a categorization glitch in the Motorola Store along with a coupon code from the OchoCinco News Network that was given out during the Superbowl.

The coupon, code OCNNSB25, was good for 25% off of all accessories until March 15th. But since the Xoom isn’t a phone, Moto had it categorized as an accessory in their store. Pretty big blunder on their part, right? Maybe, but it worked out good for a lot of people that grabbed the Xoom using this code, because Moto told DroidLife that they would still honor all orders that were placed using the code.

Congratulations to those that scored this sweet tablet at such a great price; it’s just proof that dreams actually do come true — until someone pulls them.
