Scrolling is a One Finger Ordeal on the Atrix Laptop Dock

February 23, 2011 - Written By Joe Merritt

Another day, another story bashing Motorola and something with their products. Today, the folks over at Engadget are revisiting the Atrix 4G Laptop dock and the fact that it cannot do multi-touch support. Therefore, making scrolling in the built-in Firefox browser a painfully, slow process (especially since almost everyone can scroll very easily on their laptop or desktop). But what makes this story interesting is the fact that some users are reporting to have seen multi-touch working on in-store demo units and one poster even said that a Motorola rep visited his store and demoed the multi-touch on the laptop dock.

This whole situation has me wondering whether Motorola decided to take it last night before releasing the dock, or if it actually can’t support multi-touch, or maybe it’s going to be included in a future software update. Either which way it actually is, this is definitely something that should be addressed, and changed in my mind.

This will be interesting to see how users react to this as they start using the laptop dock more and more. Make sure to post thoughts and comments below!
