Fuze Box Moving the Meeting Room to HD and Mobile

December 3, 2010 - Written By Chris Yackulic

In a press release today, Fuze Box announced that they are going to bridge the gaps between its current desktop web meeting solutions and mobile platforms.  The service has been launched today in ‘private beta’ form for testing and mobile optimizations.  Fuze box aims to bring in an industry first to all of us, multi-party desktop and mobile conferencing in HD.

“Our strategy is based on two facts. First, the meeting room of the future will be a virtual one and something you can hold in your hands. Second, people will want more device choice, not less,” states Jeff Cavins, CEO of Fuze Box. “We are browser, platform, device and network agnostic and whatever mobile or desktop device someone is considering purchasing, we’ll already be there”.

The current situation with desktop conferencing is within its limits.  Low video quality and poor latency has restricted and plagued us when attempting to organize a meeting around the globe.

Fuze Box wants to change this by:

  • Moving into the popular H.264 Codec that will deliver 720p full HD for multi-party collaborations
  • VoIP
  • Screen Sharing
  • Content Sharing
  • Full suite with collaboration tools for extra powerful resourcing

This means that using Fuze Box means you’ll have the edge of not needing your desktop to make that meeting.  Present? Yes!   Late?  Not anymore! here is the full press below.

Telepresence takes giant leap forward as world collaborates from any device December 2nd, 2010 (San Francisco) -Today, Fuze Box, the leader in mobile collaboration, is bridging popular mobile platforms & its desktop web meeting solution with Fuze Presence, the company’s highly anticipated video conferencing technology. The service, which launches in private beta today, is poised to reinvent collaboration by offering multi-party desktop and mobile video conferencing in HD quality, an industry first. Now anyone in the world can meet in HD video from any camera-enabled device with host and participants attending from Android tablets, laptops, desktops, iPhone 4 and iPad. Fuze Presence technology currently allows participants to log in from iPads and watch meeting participant’s live video streams.

How it will work: The meeting host will access his or her account from a web browser or can meet from a downloaded app on their mobile device. The host will then start a meeting, enable video conferencing and watch the attendees conveniently access the video conference. In just two clicks, the host can initiate a video meeting quickly and easily. Watch the video here: http://fuze.me/drol7
