Opera Mobile 10.1 Beta Coming November 9th

November 8, 2010 - Written By Chris Yackulic

Opera has announced that it will be releasing the Beta for the mobile version of its internet browser. So if you are one of those people out there that like to use Opera to browse your favorite web pages on your computer and phone, you’re in luck. Opera Mobile is Opera’s full internet browser but for your mobile device. There is also a browser that Opera made called “Opera Mini”. Opera Mini doesn’t use your phone’s hardware to download and view webpages but rather uses Opera’s server compression technology. This compresses the webpage and makes it viewable for you before it even reaches your phone. This is all done on Opera’s servers so that it does not put your phone under any kind of stress. To find out if this is the right thing for you punch in m.opera.com on your phone and Opera will tell you what it thinks you should do.

If the new release of Opera Mobile is too exciting for you to bear, there is a fun little wallpaper contest that you can do to distract yourself until the day arrives. To enter the contest go to the Choose Opera blog. For the contest you have to use the Android guy to the left that can be used as a wallpaper and there is also a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy S!
