New Release of MIUI ROM Brings Awesome Themes

Are you tired of the regular old look and feel of stock Android, Sense, TouchWiz or any other manufacturer’s take on Android?  How is your Chinese?  If you understand Chinese, you might want to check out the new version of MIUI.  It looks super awesome!  It is available for the Motorola Milestone, Nexus One, and HTC Desire.  Here are some of the new features:

  • 60 FPS system animations versus 17 FPS on the stock ROM on a Nexus One
  • Built-in integrated, system-wide theme support
  • Folders can now be placed in the main launcher bar
  • Individual folders now have the option to sort by your custom order, frequency of use, and by name.
  • Pinch to zoom out to the home-screen overviews
  • Super pretty music player with visualization, lockscreen integration, and lyrics support
  • Most beautiful weather widget and app with new weather effects including sandstorms and hail
  • SMS theme support
  • Built in CPU power management
  • Expanded power controls in the notification bar
  • As mentioned, it is Chinese language only.  According to their website, “MIUI ROM only supports Simplified Chinese right now. For any other language supports, MIUI group has no any plan yet. Your understanding will be appreciated.”  This is really unfortunate as it is amazingly themable, and looks really nice.  Check out these videos below!

I wonder if by using an app like MoreLocale 2, you will be able to try it out. If you have a Desire, Nexus One, or Milestone, and you try it out, let us know in the comments.
