Competition will be fierce with the announcement of Apple’s Game Center that will have developers offering something more than just gaming. Scoreloop has already started developing for Android and is combining the gaming world with social network. Their Scoreloop app for Android allows you to keep a profile, see what your friends are playing, and discover new games. The idea of providing Android with an app that can bring a community of gamers together is a new one and one that Scoreloop expects will bring them ahead of the competition. Also, Scoreloop announced the release of its developer SDK, with the hopes of games integrating Scoreloop into their apps with the community able to discover even more games.
The recent updates comes in light of the OpenFeint platform announcing they will be bringing a similar game discovery app that Scoreloop has. With them, will be publishers of some popular games in the iPhone community. OpenFeint states that “Android is an evolving gaming platform that will greatly benefit from OpenFeint’s industry leading online gaming and community technologies.” OpenFeint will be available in the late summer and Scoreloop is currently available in the Market.
