Moto DROID 2 R2-D2 Now Docking

September 7, 2010 - Written By Maddi Hausmann Sojourner

Verizon’s been having some fun with their R2-D2 DROID 2 teaser site.  The Star Wars-themed special edition of the Motorola DROID 2 has been slowly revealing its secrets while Verizon offers a few prizes for the determined.  If you follow their @DroidLanding twitter feed you can collect clues, then try to solve the puzzles that unlock the different features on the R2-D2 site.  Once someone  gets the right code, s/he wins a free DROID 2 of the robotic variety and everyone else can see what’s behind the link.

DroidLife reader Andrew Tarr netted the first win and unlocked the Apps and Widgets section for your perusal.  And now, thanks to David Holt for solving whatever opened the Device Gallery.  Now we can see R2-D2’s dock accessory, in a clean shade of droid white to match the smartphone.  While you’re admiring this special edition dock, take a look at the clues and try unlocking more features!  Just don’t expect an answer until Tuesday as Verizon has shut the fun down until the end of Labor Day weekend.

Have a look at how one of the plan sets called AttackPatternGamma was found, on Picasa :

This link will take you to the solution to AttackPatternAlpha.

The DROID 2 R2-D2 should be available on September 30th.
