DROID X Froyo Upgrade to 2.2.13 for Rooted Users

September 13, 2010 - Written By Maddi Hausmann Sojourner

While Motorola and Verizon keep DROID X owners wondering “Just how late did they mean by late summer?” for their promised Android 2.2 (Froyo) upgrades, the folks at My Droid World have an upgrade on the Froyo upgrade.  Version 2.2.13 is ready to install on your DROID X, provided that you’ve already rooted it. Did you install Froyo on your DROID X last month?

Full instructions follow, but once more, the warnings.  Neither this site nor MDW is responsible if you turn your powerful smartphone into a $550 paperweight.  Don’t proceed unless you absolutely know what you’re doing.  Do go over to MDW and read the reader comments, you will definitely learn something.

IMPORTANT:

Step 1:
This is a leaked OTA upgrade in the update.zip format. This is not a Custom ROM or a port. This will upgrade only your system.
