Make a Date – Pure Grid Calendar Widget – Android App Review

App name: Pure Grid Calendar Widget by Francois Deslandes.

Description: Google calendar/agenda information widget that uses timelines to keep you organized and is skinnable.

How it works: You can add this widget to your Android desktop to keep track of your daily agenda and future events and tasks.

The widget gives you options for the layout (4×2 3 weeks, 4×3 4 weeks, 4×4 1 month, 4×4 XL 1 month)  and can tweak the widget to show the timelines, the color of the dates, the size of the timelines etc.  After tweaking that widget layout you can change the skin of the widget.  It gives you several to start off with and after installing it you can select it and even change its transparency.  If you don’t care for the skins you can design your own at XDA developers and it gives you the link to it.

Pure Grid Calendar widget costs €1.29 (approx$1.92.)

Opinion: This calendar widget is surely one of the best. Being able to have your calendar right on the desktop is very nice and the skinnable feature is a definite plus.  I wish there were more layout options as 4×3 and 4×4 takes up most of the screen.  The ability to make the calendar nearly transparent is wonderful because it does make the widget not seem so overbearing yet still accessible.

  • Speed (4/5) – pretty quick installing and selecting the skins and pulling up the event details.
  • Features (4/5) – offers all options a calendar widget should but smaller options would be nice.
  • Theme (5/5) –  ability to skin the widget is huge and makes it very appealing.
  • Overall (4.5/5) – nice widget that takes very little setup and is able to be customized.

  • Skinnable
  • Support for multiple calendars
  • Easy setup

  • Needs some smaller sizes

Conclusion: This widget works right from the start and doesn’t take much to set up and use while being able to change it up with different skins to fit with your changing desktop.
