T-Mobile looking for update testers, unfortunately, not for 2.1.

T-Mobile is extending an invitation to Motorola CLIQ XT users to be a part of an early evaluation to an upcoming update. The update will include the following improvements:

Overall Phone Performance
Additional Stability
Bluetooth Performance
Touchscreen sensitivity
SWYPE Keyboard

Motorola had slated the CLiQ to get the 2.1 update by the end of Q2. That date has come and gone and we are only now seeing modest improvements on this incremental update. The Motorola update chart however indicates that both the CliQ and CLiQ XT “Upgrade to Android 2.1 – Testing in Progress” Perhaps this incremental upgrade is setting the groundwork for 2.1. The CliQ runs the MotoBlur flavor of Android and we have seen that non stock OS versions are taking longer to receive updates. If you’d like to be a part of the testers read the press release below. They’re only looking for 1000 testers, so act quickly.
